1. Bachelor of Arts in Buddhist Studies – Three year programme
2. Bachelor of Arts (Special) in Buddhist Studies. – Four year programme
The degree programme will be commenced on February 2018.
The students can follow the Degree programme either in Sinhala medium or English medium
|Local students – Rs. 55,000 per year including registration fee
|Foreign students – US$ 800 per year including registration fee
Fields of Study:
Pali, Sanskrit, Chinese, Early Buddhism and Theravada, Mahayana Buddhism, Vajrayana Buddhism, Comparative Religion, Buddhist Mission, Buddhist Sociology and Ethics, Buddhist Communication and Management, Buddhist History, Art and Architecture, Buddhist Methods of Meditation, Buddhist Ayurvedic Systems of Medicines.
All the courses are conducted with practical components using the following facilities:
• Buddhist Ayurvedic Hospital
• Meditation Center located in a natural forest
• Herbal Gardens
• Ayurvedic Medicine Production Facilities
• Ola-Leaf Manuscripts Conservation Project
• Computer Lab
• Modern Studio Facilities
Minimum Admission Requirements:
At least “S” Grades in three subjects and a minimum mark of 30% for the Common General Paper of the GCE (Advanced Level) Examination conducted by the Department of Examinations of Sri Lanka.
Similar qualification obtained abroad;
Any other qualification acceptable to the Institute.
The students who complete the three year Bachelor of Arts degree with relevant special grades will be able to follow Bachelor of Arts (Special) degree programme.
